Shady Lady the Balm Vol 2

So I was super excited to find this at TJMaxx and for a discount too!  This was just like when I found the first Balm palette.  I am very lucky.  TJMaxx also had another Balm products as well.  The colors are very nice and pigmented.  No matte shadows though, only shimmer but great nonetheless.

Do it Yourself Fail

I am really into do it yourself projects related to beauty like making my own brush cleansers, saving containers to put stuff in, making face masks, the foil method for removing glitter, etc.  Well I decided my hairbrush was disgusting with all the lint , dead skin, and hair on it and something needed to be done.  I googled how to remove lint from hairbrush and read about using elmer's glue to remove the lint and such.  I thought this would be easy peasy and went for it.

A paper towel or napkin underneath is a must or you will have a big mess.
So putting the glue on was a mess( I didnt take into consideration the brush was domed and the glue would run all over).  The glue dried (took a long time) and left a really thin layer.  I started peeling the corners and it looked like it would come off easily.  I was wrong.  I could only get little pieces at a time and I am still not done taking it off.  While it did remove some of the lint that wouldn't come off by hand, it still left a huge mess on my brush because I can't get all the glue.

The aftermath

DIY projects are fun but this one was not worthwhile to me.  My brush is not ruined per say but I liked it much better before this project.  I think I should have tried another method before trying this one out.  This was my favorite hair brush too but I guess I've learned not to rush into trying to fix items that aren't really broken.

Possible make up fails

I have these 2 makeup products that I am not sure what to do with.  They are the elf Golden Bronzer and the Revlon Grow Luscious Liner in Emerald.

The elf Golden Bronzer looked so pretty to me and swatched decently.  I did notice though all the colors were pretty soft and looked similar, the dark brown (with the elf stamp) didn't swatch dark at all.  But when used on the face, my face looked dirty.  I even tried using it as an e/s and it didn't look too hot.  I would like to know if anyone has ideas on how to make this product look good or should I say buh bye? and let it collect dust in my makeup drawer.

Now this product I love/hate, the color is so beautiful, I just love the golden specks.  But I hate the staying powder, there is none!  I have tried it with primers but this wont stay on my oily lids.  I would love to make this product work or find another equivalent.

Revlon Lip Butters part 2

Revlon Lip Butter
Creme Brulee

I have to be honest and say I picked this up purely because of the name creme brulee.  It is one of my favorite desserts and I even have the Revlon nail polish in creme brulee as well.

A light nude color that I probably would not repurchase.  I am thinking of putting a matte nude lipstick and then applying this over it since it has shimmer.

While I love these lip butters, my lips tend to crack but I do like how they feel and look (before the cracking of course).

I think my collection is complete.
